Incidents and reporting deadlines

Write up incidents, tell parents, and report to licensing on time.

Go to Daily → Incidents and click Write up an incident. Record what happened, who was involved, any first aid, and whether the child needed medical attention.

Reportable incidents

If an incident is reportable in your province, use Mark reportable and choose the kind. Clovernest shows the deadline to tell licensing (in BC, 24 hours) and, for the most serious kinds, tells you to call right away.

When you've told licensing, use the licensing action to record when, how and any reference number.

Telling parents

Tell the parent the same day, and right away if their child is hurt, ill or it's reportable. Record it with Parent told, and let them sign with Parent signs.

Printing and closing

Print gives a copy for your files or your licensing officer. Close the incident once any follow-up is done.

Medication

Medication is recorded on the child's page: click Give medication to record the dose, time and who gave it, against the parent's signed authorization.
